Tony Hillyard playing Mojo Acoustic, Wellington 6th March 2009
| | Friday, February 06, 2009 There's a new acoustic music club in Wellington. Mojo Acoustic in the Mojo Coffee bar in Willis Street. I'm booked to play there on the 6th March. The club plays every other Friday from 7pm and it is a welcome addition to the acoustic music scene in Wellington. It is great news that a relaxed evening of café folk music will once again be available in the heart of the city, so that we can get a regular fix of caffeine and our favourite music Hope to see you there!

Singers' Club Opening Night a sell out success!
| | Tuesday, February 27, 2007 The new venture with fellow Resident Performers Catriona Stuart, Alistair Cuthill and Tracey Haskell was more successful than we could have ever imagined. More than a hundred acoustic music lovers crammed into the Roxy Cafe on Cuba Street on our first night to hear some great music from the Residents, Pat Higgins, Carol Bean and Bob McNeill.
The Singers' Club looks set to become a Wellington institution as we have some outstanding musicians booked for ensuing months. Come and join us on the last Tuesday of every month. (see the Calendar page or www.nzacoustic.net for more information.)
Guest Appearance with Karen Tweed and Davy Stuart at Canterbury Folk Festival
| | Saturday, July 22, 2006 The trip down South was a blast! I really enjoyed playing at the Nelson Folk Club. Such a great bunch of people and I can thoroughly recommend a visit. A few days trout fishing in the pristine mountains of the Nelson Lakes National Park did much for my sense of well being then I collected my family for the trip to the Canterbury Festival.
My pick of the guests was the wonderful Kristina Olsen. Stunning songs delivered with grest style. Davy Stuart and Karen Tweed put on a series of concerts with an enormous range of 'guest appearances' that delighted the audience. I was lucky enough to join them on stage at the Saturday night concert for three songs from the album, together with Graham Wardrop, Marcus Turner, Kenny Rich, Denny Stanaway and Jan Rapley. A once in a lifetime gig!
Currently recording a track with Davy Stuart which will hopefully appear on Karen Tweed's Xmas compilation cd. More news on that later.
